Companies cringe at 50 percent cut in water
Most of San Diego's major water users say they can cut their water use by 30 percent at the city's request, but few can work the magic of 50 percent, even though some have invested millions in water conservation. Many companies say they face dropping revenues and possible closure if their water allocation is cut in half. Other say their expansion plans could be threatened.
